the warmth, wit, and emotional depth that have made Shepard one of America's most enduring musical voices.
The album campaign begins with the first single, "Sugar Rush," available now alongside its official music video, followed by "Hallelujah Anyway"
and its video on August 7, and "Don't Stop The Train" on August 28. Produced by acclaimed producer and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, Nine Songs features Shepard alongside her longtime musical collaborators— guitarist James Ralston, bassist Jim Hanson, and drummer Michael Urbano and Paul Taylor—whose remarkable chemistry has become an essential part of her signature sound in both the studio and onstage. Her live performances also feature all-star drummers Fritz Lewak and Charlie Faragher.
Born in New York City in 1963, Shepard began studying piano at age six before training in voice, dance and acting. Vonda toured throughout her career as keyboardist, singer, with Al Jarreau, Rickie Lee Jones and Jackson Browne. She made two albums for Warner Brothers before becoming an international sensation as the musical heart of the Emmy Award-winning television series
Ally McBeal, helping propel its soundtrack albums to become the best-selling television soundtrack collection in history. Along the way, her work has been honored with two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Billboard Award, while earning her a devoted worldwide audience.
In support of Nine Songs, Shepard will perform West Coast dates in July before embarking on a month-long tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland in
October 2026.
